A documentary (narrated by porn star Mark Woodward) about Hand in Hand Films, the innovative and influential New York-based studio that first appeared in 1972 and produced and distributed countless excellent classic gay porn films throughout the '70s and '80s. This is a history of Hand in Hand's approach to making hardcore features during the genesis of the genre, detailing various stages of the filmmaking process and the studio's philosophy. In addition to extended hot sex segments from several of Hand in Hand's best works, this film features a lot of behind-the-scenes explanations of how adult films were made in the 1970s, interviews (with directors, producers, and soundtrack composers, plus performer Mark Woodward's commentary), and unreleased material (including bloopers, outtakes, and a lengthy orgy scene from the never-completed film Beyond These Doors, directed by James Bidgood, maker of Pink Narcissus).
